Corrections policy.
Found something wrong?
Tell us. Signed in, every story has a report link under it. Otherwise write to support@hpts.ai and name the story and what is wrong with it.
What happens next
We check the claim against the document it came from. If we got it wrong, the story is rewritten and republished at the same address, under a dated notice at the top saying what changed. We do not quietly edit a published story, and we do not take one down to hide a mistake. We correct errors as soon as we have confirmed them.
What we catch ourselves
The record moves after we publish. When a company amends a filing or restates a figure a story relied on, we match the amendment against the story that used it and correct that story. A routine update that changes nothing we said, reissued guidance or a replaced officer, is new news rather than a correction, and gets a story of its own.
Retractions
A story we withdraw stays at its address carrying a retraction notice, so a link to it never dies in silence.
What is not a correction
A story that was accurate when it ran and has since been overtaken by events is not wrong, and we do not rewrite it. Where it matters, the newer story carries the update.
